Merry Christmas

This site was awarded first place in the
Southern Women Christmas site contest.
I was very shocked and am truly humbled by this honor.

Last night as I waited for my beautiful children to shut their eyes to sleep I dared sit by their side and think of the miracles that lay there. Sleeping and anxious for Santa to visit them my mind wandered to the blessing of their lives.

The wonderment of their birth and the trials of raising them, learning from them and teaching them the meaning of life. What a miracle birth is. Is it possible that Jesus' parents felt the same way when he was brought into this world? Did they really have any idea what was in store for him? Mary and Joseph were parents like you and I wanting only the best for their newborn child. Yes, they were blessed and with that blessing came a bit of uncertainty.

We always want the best for our children. We teach them the best way we know how in the hopes that they will grow up to be fine citizens of the world one day. Each one an individual each one a star in his own right.

May you and yours have a very wondrous Christmas and may the new year be all that you want it to be.

I just couldn't resist sharing my beautiful grandson Payton. He was 8 months old and is still the light of my life.

~Here's a yummy recipe~

Brandy Balls

Yummy Holiday confection the whole family will enjoy.

Ingredients:

6 oz. Canned evaporated milk
6 oz. Semisweet chocolate bits
3 cups crushed Vanilla Wafers
1/2 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cups chopped pecans or walnuts
1/3 cup brandy

	Directions:
	1	In heavy 2 quart saucepan (or microwave) melt evaporated milk and chocolate, stirring until smooth and thickened.
	2	remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
	3	Allow to cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then shape into 1 inch balls.
	4	Roll brandy balls in additional chopped nuts or chocolate shot. Refrigerate one hour or until firm.
Makes 3 dozen balls
