Great Smoky Mountain Corn Bread

 

1 ½ sour milk or buttermilk

2 eggs

1 teaspoon granulated sugar

½ teaspoon salt

¼ cup melted butter or margarine

½ teaspoon baking soda

1 ½ cup corn meal

½ cup flour

Beat 1st five ingredients together.  Stir in cornmeal and flour.  Add melted butter.  Mix.  Pour batter into a greased 8-inch square pan.

Bake at 425° for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
